Just What We Need Another Latina Maid on TV!!!!!

I know that “technically” this has nothing to do with the Hispanic Caucus, except that they will probably invite JLo to their gala…. but I just couldn´t resist….

So what happens when you break out, and break through in the showbiz industry?

You promote those stereotypes that make us all proud!!!!!!!!

J.Lo Seeking TV Maid

Los Angeles (E! Online) - Jennifer Lopez is dusting off this Maid for the small screen.

After scoring a box-office hit back in 2002 with Maid in Manhattan, the actress-producer is now developing an hourlong comedy-drama for ABC based on her Cinderella story about a luxury hotel cleaner who hides her identity after falling for a wealthy senator.

Lopez will coproduce the Maid in Manhattan series with Joe Roth and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas. Scribe Chad Hodge will pen the pilot, which he says will delve more into Marisa’s world taking care of the hotel’s rich guests with her fellow workers.

“The show is a different maid in a different Manhattan,” (yeah, because the real maids in the real Manhattan are Dominican and Mexican and not nuyorican) he told the Hollywood Reporter. “While the hotel’s clientele is an obvious part of this world, I’m more interested in the downstairs part of Upstairs, Downstairs.”

Castro Still Alive, Ready To Outlive Panamanian or Black Man

Guess who’s still around, Miami?

HAVANA (Reuters) - Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro turned 82 on Wednesday, still a world and national figure even though he has not been seen in public since falling ill two years ago.

After ruling for almost 50 years, Castro follows a special diet for an undisclosed illness that required intestinal surgery and admits he does not have the strength he once had.

(AND BTW that is the biggest birthday cake I have seen in my life. Quinceañeras everywhere in Cuba are crying)

But he occasionally surfaces in videos on state-run television. The most recent showed him to be more robust than those aired a few months after his July 2006 operation.

Apparently even from the bedside, Fidel is stealing his bro’s thunder. And guess who’s not shocked? Cubans!

Cubans, accustomed to Fidel running the show, were not surprised, said 69-year-old retiree Aida Flores.

“Fidel is doing almost the same that he’s always done,” she said. “Raul is not going to stop listening to his advice.”

No comment yet from our presidential candidates. Guess no one’s worried about the South Florida vote…stay tuned.
