THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE IS BEING PROTESTED RIGHT NOW. (obviously too busy protesting to learn proper grammar!)

THE PROTEST WAS ORGANIZED BY THE LEAGUE OF UNITED LATIN AMERICAN CITIZENS (LULAC) IN BEHALF (again apparently asleep during English class) OF VOTERS IN MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA. DEVELOPING……

(of course we’re still waiting to hear their reaction to the Supreme Court decision upholding a state law requiring photo ID at the voting booths, but since this protest is months after the Florida and Michigan primary, we expect so will their “outrage” at the high court. Stay tuned!)

Richardson hopeful on U.S. captives

I bet you didn’t know that there are U.S. military contractors hostage in Colombia and the U.S hasn’t done squat to get them released….

ALBUQUERQUE — Gov. Bill Richardson, back from his latest trip on behalf of U.S. citizens held hostage abroad, says Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is ready to help restart negotiations for the release of three Americans held for five years by Colombian rebels.

Richardson told The Associated Press after Saturday’s meeting with Chavez that it was “very productive.” But he did not divulge any specifics. (i.e. no specifics to divulge, and by the picture, apparently Hugo Chávez was on this way to the gym)

“This is a very difficult negotiation because you’re dealing with a rebel group that’s out in the jungle,” (in the jungle?????? maybe, but have you seen their multimedia website? they have better tech support than Bangalore (cached version, the other one is being hacked at the moment) ) the governor said Sunday on his return to New Mexico. “You don’t know where they are. You don’t know what they want.”

Which member of Congress partook of the high-falutin’ libations at the tony Charlie Palmer Steak restaurant on Capitol Hill, ordering a $24 GLASS of wine, a cognac and gawd knows what else, and then sticking some congressional staffers at another table with the bill?

The staffers, who don’t work for this person (and even if they did, WTF?!!) saw the member of Congress hanging out with useless Latino leader du jour and didn’t think anything of it. Until later on when they were ready to leave and got an outrageously crazy expensive bill. The restaurant told them “the two gentlemen in the other table” (who had by then absconded) “told us to put it on your bill.”

We should add these two amigos had ALREADY drunk a bunch of free booze at a Univisión get-together just previous to checking out the digs at Charlie Palmer. 

And we should also add that this particular member of Congress gave some speech about how proud they were to see “so many brown people” on the Hill, and urged more young brown people to consider careers in Congress (what for? so he can stiff them too?).

That the restaurant didn’t check with the staffers before adding the bill is INSANE (What did they think, that they’re all Latinos, so they must be together and know each other?).

But was is BEYOND INSANE is two ”grown” men each making more than six figures throwing their bill on unsuspecting underpaid congressional staffers who live for happy hours because of the free food. WTF??!!!!

Still wondering who it is?

Mexican Official Fired After Getting Caught With White House BlackBerries

Whether he was up to no good or simply desperate to play BrickBreaker, a Mexican press attaché was caught on camera pocketing several White House BlackBerries during a recent meeting in New Orleans and has since been fired, FOX News has learned.

Sources with knowledge of the incident said the official, Rafael Quintero Curiel, served as the lead press advance person for the Mexican Delegation and was responsible for handling logistics and guiding the Mexican media around at the conference.

Mexican Embassy spokesman Ricardo Alday said Thursday he was asked to tender his resignation once he arrived back in Mexico City.

“Mr. Quintero will be responsible for explaining his actions to the American authorities conducting an investigation. The Mexican Government deeply regrets this incident,” he said.

Quintero Curiel took six or seven of the handheld devices from a table outside a special room in the hotel where the Mexican delegation was meeting with President Bush earlier this week.

Everyone entering the room was required to leave his or her cell phone, BlackBerry and other such devices on the table, a common practice when high-level meetings are held. American officials discovered their missing belongings when they were leaving the session.

It didn’t take long before Secret Service officials reviewed videotape taken by a surveillance camera and found footage showing Quintero Curiel absconding with the BlackBerries.

Sources said Quintero Curiel made it all the way to the airport before Secret Service officers caught up with him. He initially denied taking the devices, but after agents showed him the DVD, Quintero Curiel said it was purely accidental, gave them back, claimed diplomatic immunity and left New Orleans with the Mexican delegation.

White House spokeswoman Dana Perino refused to discuss the incident, telling FOX News, “We are aware of the situation, but as it’s under investigation by law enforcement officials, we will decline to comment.”

Naturally, we here won’t shy away from commenting, and we figure more than just being a common thief, Quintero Curiel took the Blackberries to check out who the Mexican government should be bribing. That’s what we figure.

Congressional Hispanics knock Democratic leaders

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Congressional Hispanic Caucus denounced House Democratic leaders Wednesday as “spineless” and no better than Republicans for failing to take on comprehensive immigration reform. (I’M SO SCARED!) Leaders of the all-Democratic caucus, which numbers two dozen, criticized their party leadership at a news conference for scheduling hearings on enforcement legislation and specific visa issues instead. (House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her waterboy Rep. Rahm Emanuel are shaking in their boots!)

Rep. Raul Grijalva of Arizona called the Democratic caucus “spineless,” while Rep. Luis Gutierrez of Illinois said Democrats were proving themselves “no better than the Republican majority we replaced.” (They actually called themselves a majority!!! Who knew?! They’ve been so not acting like that, that we totally forget THEY ARE IN CHARGE!)

The wusses lawmakers refused to name names (’COURSE, NAMING NAMES WOULD TAKE SOME COURAGE, AND NATURALLY, A SPINE, which we just heard the Democrats don’t have) but said the piecemeal approach wouldn’t be happening without the consent of top House Democratic leaders. (HOLY COW! REALLY?! sweetjesusisthistrue?!!)

LEFT OUT OF THE STORY: “The lawmakers are not sure what their next move is going to be, but they pledged to have another press conference in six months to give a hint, or maybe not.”
