This trend of “real” journalists copying bloggers is getting out of hand… First it was the L.A. Times, then The WaPo and now the Wall Street Journal jumps on the bandwagon…
You can read the whole article here, but in case you don’t have time, I will post the important part:
Bloggers at Adventures of the Coconut Caucus (who claim to “put the panic in Hispanic”) have come on strong with their bilingual headlines.
Recently, they announced: “European non-girly man in charge of huge basically Mexican (hacienda sin bandera) state expected to endorse Panamanian for Casa Blanca” (Translation: California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger endorsed Panamanian-born John McCain.)
According to the Coconut Caucus bloggers, the GOP could elect its first Latino candidate, either a Panamanian (Mr. McCain) or Mexican-American Mitt Romney — whose father, former Michigan Gov. George Romney, was born in Mexico.
Yet Mr. Romney doesn’t seem to have enough Latino credentials to wear a Guayabera shirt, as Coconut Caucus and many other blogs blasted him for doing at a Florida campaign event.
OK, mi gente, now we need to find a way to make some money off all our cleverness….
