It has always been said that we can´t vouch for the intelligence of the average American voter (Bush, Reagan, Millard Fillmore, in the last case white male voter).

However few dispute the taste of Americans when it comes to music, at least the making part of it (jazz, hip hop, Johnny Cash, Duke Ellington) OK, so YES there are plenty of exceptions…. Mariah Carey, J-Lo and Michael Bolton.
