Cubans Choose Panamanian Over Mexican American to be Next President Outlived by Fidel Castro

Yes, a super long title as you may have noticed but the results are in: Cubans in Florida are waaay in favor of Panamian John McCain over Mexican-American Mitt Romney, and they picked Rudy Giuliani as second place, which means that resurrecting Ronald Reagan in Spanish actually does pay off.

Hispanic GOP voters were going 50 percent for McCain, 26 percent for Giuliani — who received the all-important endorsement from Cuban-born Sen. Mel Martinez — and 16 percent for Romney. Huckabee got 5 percent of the votes from this group, according to the polling.

Liveblogging the SOTU: Latino Version

OK mi gente, here goes our liveblogging of the last ever SOTU address by a Bush (until George P. gets elected).

Of course in bullet form, I can´t be expected to participate in the SOTU drinking game and write in full paragraphs as well.

  • Xavier Becerra just gave a big hug to Barack Obama.
  • Hilda Solís enters in mauve very cozy with Hillary Clinton
  • This is not really a “Latino” comment per se, but Cheney looks really, really sour
  • Supreme Court justices enter, oh wait, no Hispanics, EVER.
  • Ileana Ros Lehtinen, is wearing red, again!!!! She always manages to get on camera.
  • Secretary of Commerce, Carlos Gutiérrez enters, dollar continues to fall, he is not wearing red.
  • Ileana Ros Lehtinen gets close to Bush, fails to get a kiss.
  • Loretta Sánchez hanging out close by, also wearing red.
  • Some guy with a strange generic voice is translating for Bush on Univision
  • Bush just said Hispanic students
  • OMG HE DID mention Latin America!!!! Peru, Colombia and Panamá, camera pans to Carlos Guitiérrez
  • OMG he mentions Colombia again, and says if U.S. doesn´t approve free trade, Hugo Chávez wins.
  • Senator Salazar, Hispanic sitting closest to Obama…. oh wait, he is trying to be close to Ted Kennedy.
  • Ok, so here goes the immigration part.. hmm where have I heard this thing before…
  • So far no Latinos have booed Bush… What are they waiting for??????
  • I know she is not Latina, but where is Cindy Sheehan???? this is getting waaay too long…

Mexican Church Lady 2.0

Elvira Arellano may be deported but not forgotten…. So who is to fill the void????

Another Mexican Church Lady with no U.S. born anchor babies, but hey she does send them money every week. Thanks to AP we will all know how to pronounce her name.

CHICAGO (AP) _ A Chicago church is again in the spotlight in the debate over immigrant rights.

Illegal immigrant Elvira Arellano (el-VEE’-ruh ah-ray-AH’-noh) took sanctuary in the Adalberto United Methodist Church for a year before she was arrested on a visit to Los Angeles and deported last August.

Now, another illegal immigrant, Flor Crisostomo (floor kree-SOHS’-toh-moh), has defied a deportation order and taken refuge in the same church.

Crisostomo is an illegal immigrant from Mexico arrested at a workplace raid at a Chicago site of IFCO Systems in 2006.

The 28-year-old told reporters at the church Monday that she chose to defy authorities to illustrate the injustice of U.S. immigration laws.

So who will she endorse for president? Stay tuned…

Panamanian and Mexican American Tied For Third World Country Miami Florida Republican Nomination

If it’s good enough for Reuters, it’s good enough for us.

Mexican American and Florida Cuban lover Mitt Romney dukes it out with Central American nominee John McCain! In this battle of orange pickers, who will triumph?

We’ll be too busy rooting for Ileana to catch a Bush kiss tonight. Or hoping that part of Ted Kennedy’s endorsement includes karaoke en español.
