Adventures of the Coconut Caucus

We just found out that a string of trash can fires in several offices in and around the U.S. Capitol, the Senate, the House, et al, is not terrorism and more importantly, THE MEXICANS DIDN’T DO IT!!!

It turns out it was a Capitol Police Officer.

So it was a law enforcement agent who caused panic, commotion and evacuations galore, NOT A MEXICAN!!!

HURRAY!!!

We can go home now and have a good stiff tequila drink or two.

Giorgio Bettio, a city councilman in the northern Italian city of Tiramisu Treviso, is tired of il immigrante.

He is proposing a big bafanculo to those hoardes that, LIKE HERE IN THE UNITED STATES, go to Italy to work and do many things the natives don’t want to do, like, well, work at crap jobs that pay crap.

Anyway, he caused a (no one gave a crap except the Italian Jews) stir when he said that immigrants should be treated like the Nazis treated the Jews.

“With immigrants, we should use the same system the SS used, punish 10 of them for every slight against one of our citizens.”

Isn’t it funny how Bettio sounds like that other Italian buffoon running for president here in the good ole’ U.S. of A?  

The question on everyone’s minds today should be who is Ramona Martinez? Turns out the DNC figured out that Latinos are going to play a key role in the election (if we vote) and maybe, just maybe, it’s time to invest a little more effort in, oh I don’t know, millions of voters.

Martinez to Lead DNC Hispanic Caucus
The Democratic National Committee’s Hispanic Caucus elected a new Chair and Vice-Chair on Friday during the its 2007 fall meeting, the last full gathering of DNC members before the 2008 Democratic National Convention. It elected Acting Chair (because their last chair was so inactive) Ramona Martinez (Denver, Colorado) to serve as Chair and Eliseo Roques (San Juan, Puerto Rico) to serve as Vice-Chair.

Martinez took over as Acting Chair in February of this year and at Friday’s election was elected unanimously to continue chairing the caucus. A Colorado native, Martinez promised to focus on increasing Hispanic representation at the 2008 national convention, which will be held in Denver, Colorado next August. Read the rest of this entry »
