So it has been a while since this blog has actually been true to its name, and actually commented on anything related to our Hispanic representatives… but hey, once in a while they actually do something… like almost defy Democratic leaderwomen such as Nancy Pelosi, over some obscure English language issue which they decided to almost take out on a tax bill…
Unfortunately CSPAN doesn´t have non-brawl coverage, but CQ did note that Joe Baca is 3 feet tall:
Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus said Thursday night’s vote was their breaking point. They retaliated by initially voting against the rule allowing debate of the tax bill, very nearly sinking the measure and prompting a fiery exchange on the floor.
Hoyer was toe-to-toe with the much shorter Joe Baca , D-Calif., chairman of the Hispanic caucus. According to one Hispanic Democrat, Hoyer jabbed his finger at Baca and yelled, “How dare you destroy this party? This will be the worst loss in 10 years.”
So of course they sent out a press release and wrote a letter about it… not the non-brawl, but about that obscure English language thing…
