The workers are accused of using the money for a variety of luxuries, including fur coats, jewelry, designer handbags, houses and vehicles, authorities said.
Walters, who made $81,000 per year, was accused of spending more than $1.4 million at the Neiman Marcus department store since 2000. Some of the money also was allegedly sent to banks in the Dominican Republic. Less than $2 million has been recovered to date, and the affidavit says the amount involved in the scheme could grow.
