All Latinos hold hands and rejoice!! Apparently immigration debate has had the power that no political party or idea has had before.

Thanks to a couple of Latinos realizing that if your name is Sanchez and you look brown and are not wearing your Prada suit you could be targeted, The Washington Post claimed today that we are all one big happy family!

There is no racism or division in our community! We stand as one group of Eurowhite descendants of la reina Isabel not to be confused with blacks ever (I mean, why would we, there are no Afrolatinos, right??).

Try telling that to the Miami Cubans who have been so vocal throughout the debate. Watch out! This includes you!

Yes, it is about to be official: Albuquerque mayor Martin Chávez wants to take the job Senator Pete Domenici is leaving behind after years of representing the most Latino state in the nation (percentage wise) in Washington.

SANTA FE, N.M. - The mayor of Albuquerque will run for the seat being vacated by retiring Republican U.S. Sen. Pete Domenici, The Associated Press has learned.

Martin Chavez, who would be the highest-profile Democrat so far to enter the 2008 race, planned to announce his candidacy at a news conference Tuesday, according to a source close to the campaign who sought anonymity so as not to pre-empt the formal announcement.

AND even though he looks like a white guy, here is proof that he is actually Hispanic

And with a name like Chávez, who can vote against him….

I guess he will have to take a break from very important issues in Albuquerque to become Senator.

Maybe if he wins, he can name Bill Richardson to something after he loses his bid to be the first non-Hispanic American Mexican presidente….
