News Sancocho: Gingrich Hates nonGhetto Hispanics too,

Unfortunately my real job is interfering with my important blogging activities so I don´t have a chance to add my snide comments to each and everyone of these important stories. The oneliners will have to do:

Gingrich doesn´t even like Hispanics who speak English only.

You know its bad when Latinos want token Latinos to resign

Richardson López is running for Secretary of State by visiting the axis of evil

The Balarts keep forgetting they can talk about topics other than Cuba.

AND Ken Salazar keeps forgetting that as a pretend Democrat he doesn’t always have to vote as a Republican

It’s OK to be a terrorist if you are Cuban

Everybody seems to be ignoring this one so I must step in with my 2 centavos:

So if you are a Puertorican (José Padilla) accused of maybe being up to something scary you end up in jail with no habeas corpus, tortured, in solitary, with no trial for years, and with absolutely no rights despite being a U.S. citizen…

but if you are Cuban, blow up a plane full of civilians, are indited with a pile of evidence, escape from jail and then brag about it, guess what? You get your visa, a get out of jail card and get to spend your days in a mansion in Miami….

Release of bomber spotlights US double standard on terror: Cuba

HAVANA (AFP) - Cuba on Saturday slammed what it said was the US double standard on terrorism after a US federal judge ordered the release of an anti-Castro activist convicted in the deadly downing of a Cuban jet.

“The court ruling is yet another confirmation of the George W. Bush administration’s double standard on its alleged war on terror,” the Cuban Communist Party newspaper Granma said.

The ruling by a federal judge in Texas, does not necessarily mean former CIA operative Luis Posada Carriles, 79, will leave jail immediately, since he could be arrested by US immigration officials who have a deportation order for him. On Friday he was ordered freed pending a hearing on immigration fraud charges.

Tune in next week when Posada Carriles is named Hispanic of the year by the Balart brothers…

Sanjaya Is More Awesome Than Luis Miguel

So we all thought that Sanjaya Malakar was still going strong on American Idol, because of some call center in India mass dialing in his favor…. but that call center might as well be in Tijuana, because Hispanics are massively enamored with him… apparently they think he looks like a member of Menudo.

Sanjaya’s “American Idol” Survival Tops Hispanic TV Ratings

Nearly 1 million Hispanic households tuned in to watch Sanjaya Malakar, a vocally challenged contestant with a large U.S. fan base, advance on Fox’s “American Idol” during its Wednesday results show, according to figures released by the Nielsen Media Group for the week of March 26-April 1.

Wednesday’s “American Idol” was the No. 1 show in the Hispanic TV ratings for English-language programs, posting a 7.8 mark.

So since there are no more Latinos left on the show, we have decided to massively support the guy who can´t sing… and has about the same chance of being the next Idol as I do of winning the visa lottery: 0

And while on the Idol topic, we can console ourselves that we have had one winner to our collective name, Fantasia Barrino, (Cuban origin in case you didn’t know), but since she is black of course we didn’t claim her.
