Agenda for the First 100 Primer Impacto Hours™ of the Caucus

I know you were all waiting for the Agenda of the Hispanic Caucus for the historic 100 hours of the 110th Congress.

Well guess what? there is no agenda for the first 100 hours, or any subsequent hours, and since it may be a while until there is an agenda, and we just can´t wait, we have put together our own first 100 primer impacto hours agenda for the Hispanic Caucus.

In no particular order…

Decide what to wear at the next Caucus Gala

Pose for wax statues in Xavier Becerra’s museum

Get the president of México to answer their letters

Try to get Bush to invite them to the White House Cinco de Mayo Party

Find out why Ciro Rodríguez was sworn in before anybody else

Prevent Ileana Ros-Lehtinen from assassinating the ex-uncle of the Diaz-Balart

PLEASE get this woman a visa!

Get Ken Salazar to stop pretending he is a democrat

Buy a copy of “Terrorism for Dummies” for Silver Reyes

Lobby to be part of Bill Richardson’s not yet official presidential bid

Continue to send out press releases no one gives a crap about

Insist that the congressional hispanic caucus institute CHCI is non-partisan

Designate an intern to type in “2007″ on all copies of this year’s CHCI issues conference recommendations so that it doesn’t look like it’s the same damn thing they said last year

Plan a retirement party for the word “outrage”, which will rarely be used now that they are in the majority

Continue to ignore senator Mel Martínez, who is more of a democrat than Ken Salazar

Buy more sequin dresses because surely there will be more to galas now that they are in the majority

We Can´t Wait!!!!

Yes, the wait is almost over!!!!

In a few hours the new Pelosi Congress will be upon us, and the new Hispanic Caucus, led by Joe Baca will be in session.

It will be a busy, busy day, but not as busy as the 100 first noncontiguous hours, which were postponed until next week.
And it won’t be as busy for the Hispanic Caucus either because immigration reform is not part of the 100 first hours, or any scheduled subsequent hours.

But there will be things to do, like attend a ceremonial swearing in event, where the main highlight is NOT any of the members, but the fact that Pelosi might attend in person.

Then we will all continue to congratulate each other for being next in line when the GOP was booted out.

And once they get a spare moment they could sponsor this $5 coin.

The Hispanic Conference

Of course Latinos joined in the bipartisanship rancor and infighting so prevalent in Washington, and therefore the like 3 republicans, all from Florida, plus Henry Bonilla before he lost, decided to form their own separate but equal caucus, which is actually a “conference” because it includes some other non-hispanics, so it doesn´t seem like such a small group.

They need not worry, we will not ignore them!

I haven´t found their official website if they have one, so I will just leave you with this.
