Cubans Choose Panamanian Over Mexican American to be Next President Outlived by Fidel Castro

Yes, a super long title as you may have noticed but the results are in: Cubans in Florida are waaay in favor of Panamian John McCain over Mexican-American Mitt Romney, and they picked Rudy Giuliani as second place, which means that resurrecting Ronald Reagan in Spanish actually does pay off.

Hispanic GOP voters were going 50 percent for McCain, 26 percent for Giuliani — who received the all-important endorsement from Cuban-born Sen. Mel Martinez — and 16 percent for Romney. Huckabee got 5 percent of the votes from this group, according to the polling.

AND guess what? he ran no ads in SPANISH Read the rest of this entry »

Cuban Endorses Panamanian For President

Sooo, it is not super official yet, but if AP has it, good enough for coconut standards: Our very own busiest Senator ever, Mel Martínez has decided to support Panamanian born and honorary caucus member John McCain...

Florida senator to endorse McCain

MIAMI - Florida Sen. Mel Martinez will endorse John McCain on Friday, The Associated Press has learned, a move likely to give the Republican presidential candidate a crucial boost with the state’s Cuban-Americans just days before the primary.

The decision is a blow to Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor in a close fight with McCain for support of voters in the Cuban-American community — and to keep his candidacy alive.

Poor Rudy!!! he resurrected Ronald Reagan and ran a bunch of ads in Spanish for nada!

Mel Martínez No Longer Dividing the GOP

Well, I guess the racists have won and we will have to take away his title as the most busiest Latino politician ever.

At LEAST he is not saying he wants to spend more time with his family… (now he can spend more time hoping Fidel Castro dies soon)

Martinez Quits As RNC Chairman

Token Latino Gone
WASHINGTON (AP) _ Mel Martinez, the public face of the Republican National Committee as its general chairman, announced Friday he was stepping down from his post after serving only 10 months.

“I believe that our future as a party and nation is bright and I have every intention of continuing to fight for our president, our party, and our candidates,” the Florida senator said in a statement.

He said he was relinquishing the post to spend more time focusing on his constituents, and because the RNC reached the objective it set out to when he assumed the role last fall.

“It was my goal as general chairman to lead the party as it established the structure and raised the resources necessary to support our presidential candidate and ensure Republican victories next November. I believe we have accomplished those goals,” Martinez said.

Oh yeah and as efficient as always, we also have the official version in Spanish

Fidel Castro NOT Related to Miami Cuban Incident in Iraq

Our nonbinding sources have confirmed that Castro was not involved in this “personal attack” on Mel Martínez.. but it is only a matter of time before the Third World Miami Cuban peoples blame him for this….

Plane carrying Martinez fired on in Iraq

The senator, 3 other members of Congress were onboard; the C-130 wasn’t hit.

WASHINGTON - A military cargo plane carrying three senators and a House member was forced to take evasive maneuvers and dispatch flares to avoid ground fire after taking off from Baghdad on Thursday night.

Meliquiades

The lawmakers said their plane, a C-130, was under fire from three rocket-propelled grenades during the course of several minutes as they left for Amman, Jordan.

Of course if the Cubans in Miami still want to blame Fidel Castro for this that means that he is no longer dead again….

Bush Mini-Me Leaves, Setting Back Affirmative Action Gains for Years

By now, y’all have heard that our own Panchito GONEzales is outta here, at least starting September 17.

The tsunami of reactions is to be expected, with most of them saying vaya con dios, my dahling.

Except for poor Mel Martínez, who, loyal to the end, calls the man who said the Constitution was “quaint” a person who conducted himself with honesty, dedication, bla bla bla. While some other GOPers gave him a wishy-washy assessment, there was Martínez front and center, backing him up all the way down.

But on to the bigger issue: how can we stop the rest of world from blaming the entire Latino community for this one bad apple? All communities of color know that this is bad, because while a clearly mental midget and legal beagle leaves, this means no more Latinos in high falutin’ jobs for a while. Panchito screwed it up for all of us. The white man gave us a chance, and look what happened. The beaner screwed up. And screwed up big.

Now we’ll be stuck with another white guy, at least until another suck-up of color comes along…

On the other hand, this should help community colleges and other less-expensive institutions of higher learning in their recruitment efforts. Panchito has most definitely shown the world that an overpriced Hah-vahd lawh dahgree don’t add up to a bucket of spit.
