GOVERNOR OF PUERTO RICO TO REVEAL AIR ACCESS & CRUISE INDUSTRY RESCUE PLAN FOR THE CARIBBEAN
WHAT: The Honorable Aníbal Acevedo Vilá, Governor of Puerto Rico, will present a government initiative to protect the Caribbean’s tourism infrastructure by safeguarding air access to Puerto Rico and the region. This address will also include an overview on the current state of affairs for the airline and cruise industry in the Caribbean.
As airlines announce route cancellations worldwide, it is especially important for Caribbean nations to develop strategies that keep air travel to the region constant and profitable, as this is the backbone of other industries, including cruise lines and hotels.
To that end, the Government of Puerto Rico, and its partners at the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC), are introducing bold measures to ensure that the island remains a hub for air travel throughout the region.
