As they say…. Hell hath No fury like a Hispanic congresswoman scorned….
Seems like there will be no reconciliation soon between the Sánchez sisters and de facto leader of the Hispanic Caucus, Joe Baca, because now they are messing with la familia…
So here is the latest: Loretta Sánchez donated a whole 100 dollars (less than she spends on one pair of shoes) to one of the political rivals of Joe Baca´s son Jeremy, a convicted drunk driver also arrested for beating “altercating” his girlfriend.
Jeremy Baca was running for a council seat in San Bernardino and lost to Vincent Yzaguirre, supported by Sánchez.
Paula Negrete, Sanchez’s communications director, said the decision to support Yzaguirre had nothing to do with the spat between the two members of Congress.
“There is no connection,” Negrete said. “She was contacted by (Yzaguirre’s) campaign. She spoke to him on the phone. His priorities were in line with what she believes in. That’s why she decided to support him.”
But even MORE interesting than a little interfamilia squabble that nobody cares about, except for bloggers like us, is the “reappearance” of The Politico and their “coverage” of the Hispanic Caucus.
Baca Vs. Sanchez: Round 293
By Josephine Hearn
The San Bernardino city council will not have Jeremy Baca, youngest son of Rep. Joe Baca (D-Calif.) as one of its members, thanks in part to Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.).
Sanchez donated to the younger Baca’s opponent and the ultimate victor in the primary race, Vincent Yzaguirre. Sanchez’s spokeswoman denied that the donation had anything to do with defeating young Baca, or with the bad blood between Sanchez and the elder Baca. Yzaguirre also got support from Republicans seeking to undercut the elder Baca’s power in the area.

Stephen Wall at the San Bernardino Sun has the story.

It is nice to see that our very own Josefina has learned how to attribute sources (at least to anglo papers) but I must comment about the very cliché headline, and failed attempt at copying this blog, of course without retribution attribution…
and I can`t help but add, that I know many in the Hispanic Media who would to have a full time salary to write lame 3 parragraph monolingual stories copied from a local newspaper…
