I was trying to find the Latino angle in order to post this hilarious Colbert video about Michael Steele.
And of course that angle is Mel MartÃnez, who was head of the RNC for like 2 seconds before racist xenophobic GOP’ers ran him out of the place, despite the fact that he didn’t criticize Rush Limbaugh on TV. (at least that we know of, but we don’t watch that much TV)
So, now lets watch this hilarious video:
OK people, we have certainly had enough white guys taking Hispanic jobs to declare it officially a stampede.
The most recent round involves Mel MartÃnez, the busiest Latino senator ever.
Martinez Eyeing Early Exit as Crist Looks at Senate Seat
In what could be a Sunshine State one-two punch, multiple Republican sources are confirming that Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (R) is giving serious consideration to running for Senate — and that Sen. Mel Martinez (R-Fla.) is contemplating resigning from his seat before his term is up next year.
Martinez has already announced he will not run for re-election when his first term expires in 2010. Crist, according to sources, has had multiple serious conversations about running for Senate with both Martinez and National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn (Texas).
This can only mean he wants to get back to Miami to be part of the celebrations when the next rumor of Fidel Castro’s death sends old people dancing in the streets.
Yes, a super long title as you may have noticed but the results are in: Cubans in Florida are waaay in favor of Panamian John McCain over Mexican-American Mitt Romney, and they picked Rudy Giuliani as second place, which means that resurrecting Ronald Reagan in Spanish actually does pay off.
Hispanic GOP voters were going 50 percent for McCain, 26 percent for Giuliani — who received the all-important endorsement from Cuban-born Sen. Mel Martinez — and 16 percent for Romney. Huckabee got 5 percent of the votes from this group, according to the polling.

AND guess what? he ran no ads in SPANISH Continue reading 'Cubans Choose Panamanian Over Mexican American to be Next President Outlived by Fidel Castro'»
Sooo, it is not super official yet, but if AP has it, good enough for coconut standards: Our very own busiest Senator ever, Mel MartÃnez has decided to support Panamanian born and honorary caucus member John McCain...
Florida senator to endorse McCain
MIAMI – Florida Sen. Mel Martinez will endorse John McCain on Friday, The Associated Press has learned, a move likely to give the Republican presidential candidate a crucial boost with the state’s Cuban-Americans just days before the primary.

The decision is a blow to Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor in a close fight with McCain for support of voters in the Cuban-American community — and to keep his candidacy alive.
Poor Rudy!!! he resurrected Ronald Reagan and ran a bunch of ads in Spanish for nada!
Well, I guess the racists have won and we will have to take away his title as the most busiest Latino politician ever.…
At LEAST he is not saying he wants to spend more time with his family… (now he can spend more time hoping Fidel Castro dies soon)
Martinez Quits As RNC Chairman

WASHINGTON (AP) _ Mel Martinez, the public face of the Republican National Committee as its general chairman, announced Friday he was stepping down from his post after serving only 10 months.
“I believe that our future as a party and nation is bright and I have every intention of continuing to fight for our president, our party, and our candidates,” the Florida senator said in a statement.
He said he was relinquishing the post to spend more time focusing on his constituents, and because the RNC reached the objective it set out to when he assumed the role last fall.
“It was my goal as general chairman to lead the party as it established the structure and raised the resources necessary to support our presidential candidate and ensure Republican victories next November. I believe we have accomplished those goals,” Martinez said.
Oh yeah and as efficient as always, we also have the official version in Spanish
