Stimulus We Can Beleive In: Obama Gives Latina a Lifetime Job

By La bloguera, May 26, 2009 8:24 am

We usually don’t do breaking news, but we will make a minor exception…

President Barack Obama will name his nominee to replace Supreme Court Justice David Souter at 10:15 am ET on Monday, an adviser told NBC News.

NBC News also reports that Obama intends to nominate federal appeals court judge Sonia Sotomayor as the first Hispanic to serve on the Supreme Court.

Once I have some coffee I will be able to come up with something sarcastic to say about all this…

Spanish Language TV Turns Obama Into A Generic South American-Agitated Old Man-Woman

By La bloguera, March 25, 2009 9:53 am

So while the rest of you were watching the long winded Barack Obama prime time press conference on the usual suspects, C-Span, MSNBC, CNN, or whatever local channel decided to interrupt its programing, we thought it might be way more fun to watch him in Spanish.

AND this is what you missed by not doing likewise:

On Univision (which interrupted Cuidado con el Angel to bring you this) Obama sounded like an agitated old man with a slight Cuban accent:

Later, as the presser went on and on, the the guy became less agitated as he was reassured that the deficit is really not all that bad, however they turned a Black male reporter into an Argentinian lady:

Meanwhile on Telemundo: A younger version of the generic South American guy, trying to sound like he has no accent, but is probably Colombian.

Turns Out Obama is Muslim, Terrorist, Illegal, Mexican, Hispanic!

By La bloguera, March 20, 2009 10:23 am

We all know that Monica Lewinsky, John McCain, and Mitt Romney are Hispanics, but did you know that we can also claim the first Black Commander in Chief?

A very important, prominent and completely out of his mind Latino journalist, (not Lou Dobbs the Hispanic journalist) has this exclusive breaking news:

Obama Is “First Hispanic President”  Geraldo Rivera Says

Journalist and TV personality Geraldo Rivera summed up the optimism of pro-immigrant activists and mostly Democrat politicians at the 13th annual U.S.-Mexico Congressional Border Issues Conference by saying he is confident President Barack Obama will keep his campaign promise to sign “comprehensive immigration reform into law.

“Barack Obama is the first Hispanic president the same way Bill Clinton was the first black president”, Rivera said at the conference, which took place Thursday at the U.S. Capitol.

He may have a point: Immigrant dad,  single mother, raised by grand parents, illegal aunt, poor cousin abroad,  says si se puede, loves the Kennedy’s, … oh wait, his dad went to Harvard and his mom had a PhD, never mind.

Of course we already knew he was Dominican.

So when do we get an altar to la Virgen de Guadalupe, and or Changó, in the White House?

Asian Guy to Take Place of White Guy Who Took Job from Mexican

This is not a breaking news blog, so I´m sure you already heard…

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama’s likely third pick for Commerce secretary is former Washington Gov. Gary Locke, a senior administration official said Monday.

Locke, a Democrat, was the nation’s first Chinese-American governor when he served two terms in the Washington statehouse from 1997 to 2005.

In this Feb. 24, 2004 photo, Washington State Gov. Gary Locke ...

Obama’s expected choice of Locke arose less than two weeks after his most recent pick, Republican Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, backed out. Just over a week after Obama named him and he accepted, Gregg cited “irresolvable conflicts” with the policies of the Democratic president.

Meanwhile, Bill Richardson López didn´t even go to the White House for the gov´s meeting and gala and apparently Obama is not the only one dissing him.

Val Kilmer ponders run for New Mexico governor in 2010

SANTA FE, N.M. — Fresh from the inauguration — a commemorative coin still in his pocket — actor Val Kilmer is pondering the pull of public service.

Some “serious people” want him to consider running for governor, he said in an interview with The Associated Press.

“I’m just looking for ways to be contributive,” Kilmer said, dunking his tea bag in a big mug of hot water at a local restaurant. “And if that ends up being where I can make a substantial contribution, then I’ll run.”

But there’s no decision yet.

“It’s really day to day,” he added.

So what should Richardson López to do once he’s out?
